제목 Lactate-based ionic liquid catalyzed reductive amination of biomass-Derived aldehyde/ketones and xylose
초록 Conversion of biomass into valuable nitrogen-containing compounds is highly desired, however, such a process remains challenging. Here we present lactate based ionic liquid catalyzed reductive amination using triethoxysilane as a reductive agent, which provides a metal-free route one–post synthesis of furfuryl amine from xylose under mila conditions. This catalyst shows excellent catalytic activity toward the synthesis of industrially important furfuryl amine from furfural or biomass-Derived aldehydes/ketones and xylose. Reduction of aldehydes/ketones proceeded in 75-96 % yield, and dehydration of xylose followed by reduction gave 55-70 % yield of furfuryl amine using IL catalyst and triethoxysilane. The one-pot three-step procedure is highly efficient for synthesis of furfuryl amine from xylose as it avoids isolation of furfural and requires a single catalyst for three different steps. The reaction conditions are mild and avoid the use of, Nobel metal and transition metal catalysts.
