Ferric oxide – carbon nanotube (Fe2O3–CNT) nanocomposites were synthesized by a sol-gel method. The obtained photocatalyst was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X–ray diffraction (XRD), and X–ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic activities of the prepared Fe2O3–CNT catalysts were evaluated under UV irradiation of CR degradation. The results showed that maximum absorption at 498 nm intensity decreases rapidly as irradation time increases, and CR was completely degraded after 180 min. The enhanced activity can be ascribed to the CNT addition. |
