Efficient and stable electrocatalyst based on 2D conductive bimetallic metal -organic framework towards overall water splitting |

Developing electrocatalysts with high activity and durability has been an ongoing target for electrolyzer water, which is particularly significant for renewable hydrogen energy production. In this study, Fe/Zn bimetal-organic framework (FexZn2-x(HAB)2MOF) has been prepared using hexaaminobenzenes (HAB) as an organic linker viz a solvothermal and exfoliation process. They exhibited excellent electrochemical performance because of the directional electron transport and synergistic effects of divalent metals and the simple preparation strategy. Among them, Fe/Zn-HAB-60 displayed high catalytic activity with a low overpotential 226 mV at 10 mA cm-2 for the OER and 120 mV at 10mA cm-2 for the HER. The divalent atoms interaction possibly boosted the intrinsic 4e-/2e- of the OER/HER activity and stability. |
