Nanocapsules have been studied as carriers to delivery of drugs, DNA separation, and so on. A lot of studies have shown that the nanocapsules can enhance the biological response of the drugs. In this study, we prepared polylatic acid (PLA) nanocapsules containing permethrin. Permethrin is well known as mosquito repellent. PLA, a biodegradable polymer, was selected as a shell of nanocapsule because of removal process of small particles by spontaneous decomposition. Permethrin encapsulated PLA nanocapsules were prepared by the emulsification diffusion technique. The resulting insecticidal nanocapsules were characterized by particle size and distribution analysis, SEM, TEM, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and HPLC. Nanocapsules of this study showed mean diameters of 221-347 nm.
