Ultrafine formation of optically transparent polyacrylonitrile/polyacrylic acid nanofibre fibrils via electrospinning at high relative humidity |

Optically transparent and cable-like Polyacrylonitrile/polyacrylic acid (PAN/PAA) nanofibres filled withultrafine fibrils were obtained via eletrospinning at a high relative humidity. PAN fibrils 20.8 nm indiameter were dispersed in the nanofibre core. The optical property of composite NFs membrane can betailored by atmosphere humidity during electrospinning and the bicomponent proportion. The transmittanceand the tensile strength of these composites increased with the content of PAA increasing, theirtransmittances were from 74.8 to 88.8% and tensile strengths were from 12.0 to 15.6 MPa, much higherthan pristine PAN NFs of 46.0% and 5.7 MPa. Optically transparent PAN/PAA composites have potential tobe a promising alternative as components of optoelectronic devices. |
