Monodisperse PMMA particles were prepared by dispersion polymerization and the core/shell type of PMMA/Ag hybrid particles were prepared using electroless silver plating technique. Based on the previous study, the optimum conditions were applied to form particles with uniform and thick silver layers. Then, the correlation between the particle size and conductivity was studied in terms of various parameters such as content, shell thickness and the PMMA core sizes. The characteristics of the PMMA/Ag hybrid particles were investigated using SEM (scanning electron microscope), TEM (transmission electron microscope), TGA (thermogravimetric analysis), XRD (X-ray diffraction) and 4-point probe. |
