The N-halamine functionalized polymer has been attracted as antibacterial material and detoxification of chemical warfare agent. Among them the dimethyl hydantoin moiety group is very simple and powerful moiety for manufacture N-halamine group. However, as reported in many recent articles, the N-halamine moiety can decomposed easily under humidity condition with decrease of catalytic ability. Herein, we prepared multi-functionalized hydantoin thermoplastic polyurethane with additional functional group such as decyne, poly ethylene glycol, and fluorinated moiety via azide-alkyne click reaction. We confirmed high decomposition efficiency in all samples except fluorinated moiety multi-functionalized hydantoin TPU. The decyne functionalized hydantoin TPU confirmed to maintain N-Cl content until approximately 55% during 90 days. These study of N-Cl stability with polymer can help to improve antibacterial applications and detoxification clothes for army. |
