DNA-guided tri(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminium (Alq3) microrods were prepared by the re-precipitation method. In this process, it is expected that DNA plays a role to link each Alq3 molecule and help the synthesis of microrods. To analyze the detail distribution of DNA within the Alq3 rods, we used Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope (LSCM). Thin optical sectioning skill of LSCM makes particularly good at 3D imaging and surface profiling of samples. We used fluorescence dye-labeled DNA and Alq3 molecules having broad green fluorescence for the distribution of fluorescence emitted at the different wavelength. In the results, probe DNA contributing to fabrication of Alq3 rods is dominantly distributed at the inside and edge. Also target DNA was hybridized on the surface of probe DNA-guided rods. Through the results, we are afford to expect the synthesis mechanism of Alq3 mircorod. Also the results can open up various applications of Alq3 microrods |
