Electrochemical Properties of In-Situ Gel Polymer Electrolytes Based on Perfluorinated Acrylate as Cross-linkers for Lithium Polymer Batteries |

The problems of liquid electrolytes for lithium-ion polymer batteries are its thermal stability and leakage. In this work we synthesized new gel polymer electrolyte utilizing perfluorinated acrylate as a cross-linker to address such problem as well as to improve flame retardancy. The advantage of new cross-linker is that the gel could be formed by in-situ thermal cross-linking method. The characteristics of ionic conductivity, electrochemical and interfacial stability properties of the cross-linked gel polymer electrolyte were measured. The ionic conductivity of the gel polymer electrolyte increased with higher content of polar solvent. The electrochemical performances of lithium-ion polymer cells composed of the cross-linker were also studied. |
