In recent years, there have been intensive researches on the size- and/or shape- controlled synthesis of metal nano-/micro- crystals such as gold, silver, palladium, etc. Especially, synthesis of gold nano-/micro- crystals is attractive because of their unique properties such as catalytic, electronic, optical, physicochemical, and electromechanical properties. Recently, our group reported a synthetic procedure of the preparation of gold nanowires and nanosheets in bulk block copolymer phases under mild conditions (Adv. Mater. 2004, 16, 459). Herein, we investigate on the morphology changes of gold nano-/micro- crystals from sheets to particles with adding small amount of halide ions (Cl-, Br-, or I-) or varying some experimental parameters (temperature, polymer, light source, counter cation, etc). Prepared gold nano-/micro- crystals are characterized by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-Vis spectroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), etc. |
