제목 The effect of UHMWPE precoated with coupling agent on mechanical properties of the bone cement
초록 Silane is used for coupling agent. which it is widely used additives for bonding between ceramics and metals. In particular, many researchers were used it as bonding agent between Co-Cr-Mo alloy and silica when silica has been used for the enhancement of mechanical strength in commercial bone cement. In our study, we used and compared TSL 8331(3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane) and TSL 8340 (N-(2-Aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxylsilane) to modify the surface of UHMWPE powder. We used dipping process for modifying the surface of UHMWPE powder. SEM, FTIR-ATR, UTM were utilized to analyze the mechanical properties of the modified bone cement. It observed that the tensile strength of new bone cement is superior to commercial bone cement more than 2ml of two coupling agent. In conclusions, coupling agents improved bonding force between UHMWPE powder and commercial bone cement.
