제목 | Magneto Optical properties of Cerium substituted Yttrium Iron Garnet particles dispersed in polymer matrix for MO devices |
초록 | Rare earth substituted Yttrium Iron Garnet(R-YIG) has been used for magneto optical devices in the visible wavelength region as well as the infrared region. CexY3-xFe5O12(Ce-YIG) has high compatible Faraday effect in the wide range wavelength region and much higher Faraday rotation than BixY3-xFe5O12 (Bi-YIG) in the infrared region. Untill now, R-YIG film is normally prepared with sputtering but this method has limitation in the thickness and manufacturing process, In order to solving these limitations, R-YIG nano particle/ polymer composite film will be compatible method to sputtering. This film must have transparency and also have Magneto-Optical effect. Ce-YIG particles were synthesised with coprecipitation, then dispersed in polymer matrix. Due to high thermal stability and transparency, PMDA-ODA polyimide was used as matrix that prevents particle growth during annealing process and gives the stability to the composite. Garnet stucture was confirmed with XRD and particle size is 50~100nm with TEM and Faraday rotation is measured with measuring Faraday detector system . |
