Polyoxymethylene is one of key eng'g plastics & keeps unique characteristics like high crystalline, dimensional stability, chemical resistance, self lubrication, creep, etc. In addition, it is relatively accessible in terms of price & produced as base polymer via polymerization and compounding through secondary process, targeted to improve specific performance by adding fillers like glass fiber, mineral, anti-static agent, etc. POM is used broadly in most industry thus main countries try to build own production locally to support growing industry demand. However, only a few global players have source technology and the market is shared by them. The reason behind is that POM production is combination among high technology, accumulated experience, resource, high capital investment, etc. In coming industry 4.0 era, POM industry will experience drastic changes from mass production parts to focusing on higher productivity. POM's futuristic applications are expected of a certainty. |
