Electrospinning is a simple and useful method for producing nanoscaled fibers. Generally, it is well known that the 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (BMIPF6) is a hydro-phobic, air-stable, and conductive ionic liquid in ambient condition. In this study, we fabricated SAN/BMIPF6 nanofibers via electrospinning technique. The sensing behaviors of SAN/BMIPF6 nanofibers were examined by measuring its response upon exposure to alcohol vapors at room temperature. The results showed that the electrical resistance of electrospun SAN/BMIPF6 nanofibers was decreased when being exposed to alcohol vapours including methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, and 1-butanol. |
