Cellulose acetate (CA) is widely used forultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis because of its pore forming property,high salt rejection, moderate flux. CA membranes, however, were showed that lowflux recovery ratio after fouling occurs. In this work, CA membranes, preparedthrough phase inversion method, were modified by NaOH or H2SO4solution for preparation regenerated cellulose (RC) membrane to enhanceanti-fouling property and membrane performance. The fabricated membranes wereanalyzed through Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR), scanningelectron microscopy (SEM) and water contact angle. RC membrane reaches amaximum pure water permeance value of 90 Lm-2h-1bar-1and 94.8% rejection of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA). This studydemonstrated using deacetylation of CA to achieve enhancement in membraneperformance. |
