Micro/mesoporous carbon nanofibers were prepared from electrospun PAN-based carbon nanofibers using KOH and SiO2 for chemical and physical activation. To confirm development of pore and formation micro/mesopore structure, the BET specific surface area and pore size distribution were investigated. The activated carbon nanofibers used as an electrode in an electric double-layer capacitor (EDLCs) to measure the specific capacitance and retained capacitance ratio. It was observed that the specific capacitances improved according to increase SiO2 contents and also retained capacitance ratio increased. It is thought that micro/mesopore structure of carbon nanofibers was enhanced EDLCs performance. |
