Convenient synthetic methods of fatty acid diesters have been studied. Diester oil has been developed as using renewable, biodegradable and environment friendly industrial fluids. Those diesters were synthesized by octyl, dodecyl, hexadecyl, octadecyl and octa-9-enyl glycidyl ether with fatty acids such as oleic acid and octanoic acid. The one-step/two-step reactions for the syntheses of diesters were compared. The products were analyzed by 1H-NMR, IR and HR/MS. The yield of diesters were 55 - 65%. |
