We synthesized oligomeric aniline tethered with an ethylene glycol (EG) block which assisted the polymer for solubilizing in water. Therefore, we successfully fabricated thin films of this oligoaniline(TA)-block-EG-copolymer with poly(acrylic acid) on indium-tin oxide (ITO) substrates by layer-by-layer process. Layer-by-Layer deposition (LbL) is a versatile technique whereby ultrathin films are assembled from the repetitive, sequential adsorption of oppositely charged polyelectrolytes from dilute aqueous solution. We measured the optical, electrical and surface properties of the multilayer films. We have been studied cellular interactions on various polyelectrolyte multilayer films on open surfaces. In the cell study, some polyelectrolyte multilayer films exhibited cell-blocking ability. This new materials will be interesting to study cellular interactions including neuronal cell activity. |
