Dispersion of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in polypropylene by masterbatch dilution method |
초록 |
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) used to aggregate with each other in polymer melt, so CNTs dispersion is important for the application. In this study, we investigated effective dispersion method of MWCNTs in polypropylene (PP) by introducing a masterbatch dilution to polymer melt and how MWCNT immigrate to polymer melt. The preparation process of MWCNT-masterbatch was performed by three-roll milling machine. And MWCNT-masterbatch was added to polymer melt in the middle of blending. The MWCNT/PP composites (here, we fixed the concentration of MWCNT to 0.9wt%) were characterized by using their rheological, electrical and morphological properties. The rheological properties including storage modulus and complex viscosity of composites significantly increased at low frequency compared with that of MWCNT/PP composites without masterbatch process. Also, for those composites, the dispersion of MWCNT is compared by using morphological observation (FE-SEM). |
