제목 Effects of Initiator type on LDPE/EVA Radical polymerization in Tubular reactor
초록 In this work, we investigated the properties of Low density polyethylene homo or vinyl acetate copolymers produced in tubular reactor according to the initiator type. For initiator systems, peroxide-only and peroxide+oxygen system were considered. In the polymerization aspect, peroxide-only systems showed shorter time to peak temperature, faster cooling behavior. Resulting polymer structure had narrow molecular weight distribution, less high molecular weight portion, and fewer chain branch. Those gave the film properties into larger neck-in, lower haze, and less micro fisheye. Based on those results, we examined the relationship between molecular structure and characteristics of initiator such as decomposition and hydrogen abstraction ability. Finally, we will provide an example to control the film properties by proper mixing of initiators.
