제목 Corrosion mechanism on contact surface linking rubber house to aluminum part
초록 The contact surface linking rubber house and aluminum part exposed to coolant solution. The corrosion mechanisms among rubber house, aluminum and coolant have been studied. The deposits and/or scales on the contact surface have been analyzed using several techniques, such as Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), Electron Probe Micro Analyzer (EPMA), Fourier- Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and pyrolysis-GC/MS. Analytical observations show that the yellow scales were composed mainly of some inorganic- (i.e., K, Na) and a organic (i.e., benzoate) compounds, while several inorganic compounds such as Al, P, and K were detected in the white deposit. A detailed investigation reveals that the components of coolant cause aluminum metal to corrode on the contact surface. Especially, the existence of air cap between rubber house and aluminum part could facilitate the corrosion on the contact surface.
