Li1-2xMgxFePO4 (x=0, 0.03) composites were synthesized successfully by a modified mechanical activation process which combined stirring and ball milling steps. The effect of ball milling time, magnesium doping and carbon coating on their properties was investigated in detail. The smooth surface of magnesium doping LiFePO4 reduce the BET surface area but when carbon is coated onthe surface of particles, the difference of surface area between undoped and doping is decreased. Also, the magnesium doping invigorates the property of coated carbon on electronic conductivity. Magnesium doped samples showed lower interfacial resistance and theirby higher capacities were obtained. |
