제목 Development of water-soluble azo dyes sensitive to pH and metal ions.
초록 Numerous π-conjugated organic dyes have been developed for electronic, electrochemical, and optical applications. Among those azo-dyes were popular in the field in cluding textile dyeing, dye laser, householdings, painting, etc. For example, disperse red series, methyl red and methyl orange are composing of azo-conjugation. In this study, we designed water-soluble azo dyes which can donate electrons for metal cordination. The formation of a quinonoid canonical structure leads to the color change of a dye solution. Several heavy metal(Cu, Hg, Pb) ions are recognized by the selective ion holding of a hetero atom - chain attached to the dye. The dyes are incorporated to polymers or silica particle for fast recognition, contamination-free, reuse, and easy separation.
