제목 Implementing New Concepts in Metallocene Catalysts: Modulation of Polymer Density and Molecular Weight Distribution
초록 Olefin polymerization by means of group 4 metallocene/methylalumoxane(MAO) systems is undoubtedly the most versatile route to polymers with controlled properties such as stereoregularity, molecular weight distribution(MWD) and co-monomer incorporation. But, the concept of controlling polymer density based on single-component catalytic system has not been demonstrated. We have tackled this matter by engaging ansa-metallocenes with functionalized silylene-bridge, leading to the first observation of temperature-dependent control of polymer density with possible MWD modulation. The brief accounts of synthesis, characterization and ethylene polymerization properties of new catalytic systems will be presented.
