Study of Carbon Materials and Scattering Layer Based on Au Nanoparticles deposited into Freestanding TiO2 Nanotube Arrays |

This study emphasized the properties of carbon materials and scattering layer as new materials in DSSCs to enhance power conversion efficiency (PCE). The DSSCS based on freestanding TiO2 nanotubes arrays (TNTAS) with carbon materials achieved an efficiency of 6.59%. In comparison, the DSSCs with Au NPs deposited into the freestanding TNTAS with carbon materials reached an efficiency of 7.24%. This improvement is attributed to carbon materials that enhance electron transport and plasmonic effect, thus successfully increased the PCE in DSSCs. Another material was the scattering layer, DSSCs based on freestanding TNTAS with scattering layer delivered a PCE of 6.61%, resulting in high light harvesting. In the case of DSSCs with Au NPs deposited into the freestanding TNTAS with scattering layer, the PCE was 7.12%, due to better electron generation and an increment of the reflection of the light by scattering layer. |
