Ordered mesoporous materials possess a large BET surface area, controllable and narrowly distributed pore sizes, and an ordered pore arrangement. These materials are known to be promising candidates for the use as catalyst supports. Ionic liquid are known as a geen solvents for numerous catalytic reactions. However, the heterogenisation of ionic liquids on solid mesoporous supports is highly desirable because, the problems encountered in the homogeneous catalysis such as handling, seperation, waste-disposal etc. can be prevented and at the same time, diffusion limitations can be alleviated by choosing an appropriate mesoporous support. |
