제목 Sequentially Controlled Regioregularity of Block Poly(3-hexylthiophene) Copolymers through Living Chain-Growth
초록 In this paper, the living chain-growth of regioregularity(RR)-controlled P3HT(co-P3HT) via catalyst-transfer polycondensation(CTP) was validated by measuring time-dependent RR and correlations between the molecular weight and monomer conversion. Furthermore, regioregular-block-regiorandom P3HT copolymer(block-P3HT) consisting of blocks with different RRs was synthesized by sequentially added monomer. The RR of each block could be easily adjusted by different feed ratios of monomer. Then, we investigated the effect of the distribution of regiodefects within the polymer chain on crystalline behaviors by comparing block-P3HT and co-P3HT. Although the P3HT polymers had analogous total RR, the block-P3HT showed stronger tendency to crystallize and self-assemble due to the absence of regiodefects in the highly regioregular block, inducing strong intermolecular interactions. Our findings could provide a synthetic route for optimizing the crystalline behavior of poly(3-alkylthiophene)s.
