제목 Synthesis of gelatin micro-complex with GO/Cu for antibacterial effect in wound infections
초록 Wound infections are caused by the growth of bacteria inside the wound. If a wound infection progresses, wound healing may be delayed, and the wound may worsen, causing life-threatening complications such as sepsis. Treatment of wound infections involves treating the wound with an antibacterial materials. In this study, graphene oxide(GO)/copper nanocomposites was used.

To reduce the cytotoxicity of the nanocomposite, we encapsulated GO/Cu with a gelatin complex. The catechol group bound to the gelatin create synergizes the adhesion through numerous interactions. In particular, we used gallic acid that it has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Gelatin and gallic acid were combined by using EDC/NHS as a crosslinker, and this was confirmed by FT-IR, 1H NMR, and fluorescence. As a result, it has been proven that it has an antibacterial effect against both Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria, even with a small amount and biocompatibility with human cells (HDF). The reported work has demonstrated the potential of antibacterial gelatin micro-complex to inhibit infectious bacteria with anti-inflammatory and biocompatible for cells.
