Interface characteristics control of metal oxide electrodes for energy storage devices of fuel cell and lithium ion battteries were investigated. Metal oxides were involved zinc oxide, tin oxide and gallium-tin oxide composite materials. The samples were examined by field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), with the points focused on nano-structural and surface morphological properties. From the charge-discharge cycling tests , the deposition of metal oxides effectively improved the capacity retention after prolonged cycling at a room temperature. A high energy performance of interface improved electrodes at various electrochemical enviroment can be quickly operated as charge and discharge in a fast time to several tens of seconds together with excellent electrical resistivity, stable ion diffusivity and high power density.
