It is a challenge to develop a self-healing material that possesses both self-healing properties and improved mechanical properties. Herein, a self-healing polymethacrylate nanocomposite with a dual-crosslinking point was designed via Diels-Alder reaction. The first cross-linking point was established via the Diels-Alder bonding of the furan functionalized polymethacrylate chain. Secondly, the maleimide modified graphene oxide (mGO) acts as an analogous cross-linker which also enhanced the compatibility between the polymer matrix and nanofiller. As a result, the tensile strength of the nanocomposites with 0.030 wt% mGO was enhanced up to 172 %, compared to that of polymer film. Also, it is confirmed that a self-healing efficiency of nanocomposites containing 0.030 wt % mGO was increased by 81%, which is compared to polymer film. |
