제목 The Influence Of Carbon Coated Silica On Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR) Vulcanizates
초록 Silica filled elastomers plays are having a vital role in the tire formulations due to its temperature dependent dynamic mechanical properties. In these studies we have developed silica filler coated with amorphous carbon phase and compared its reinforcing effect in styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) against unmodified silica compounds. Carbon coated silica was synthesized in two step process. The synthesized materials were characterized using various characterization techniques like XRD, SEM, TEM, FTIR, TGA, XPS and BET etc. These carbon coated silica was then incorporated into styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) at various filler loadings using a standard tire formulation. There was a notable advancement in the mechanical properties such as modulus and tensile strength. These were also having the better reinforcing ability.
