Supercapacitors (SC) are one of the most promising energy storage devices with high power density for a wide range of applications. The electrochemical performance of SC is significantly influenced by the nature of electrode materials, binder and conductive additives used. The present study deals with the performance of Graphene based active materials (GO-SO3H and GO-HMDA) as active materials (AM) using three different binders viz., a highly cross linked polymer (CMC+PAA), poly (vinylidenefluoride) and alginic acid. Electrochemical studies of these AM are performed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and charge-discharge studies. The study revealed that the chemical interaction between binder and active material plays a vital role in the improvement of the electrochemical performance of SC. |
