Most self-healing polymers require external stimuli, such as heat, pH or light. However, when an external stimulus is applied to the polymer, the polymer becomes weak and it is difficult to expect good mechanical properties. In this study, we introduced two strategies to address this problem: imine bonds and DMAEMA. The imine bond is one of the methods for imparting self-healing properties to polymers. An imine-based self-healing mechanism that does not require additional stimulation is attractive for our research goals. Because polymers containing DMAEMA have a LCST, the polymer absorbs moisture below the LCST, which improves self-healing performance even at low temperature. In this work, mechanical properties and self-healing properties of the film according to varying crosslinking conditions were comparatively analyzed.
