제목 Artificial graphite for lithium secondary battery with improved graphitic crystallinity by boron doping
초록  In the work, the boron doped synthetic graphite was prepared as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries. Boron doping demonstrated the effect of improving graphitic crystallinity of graphite, indicating the catalytic activity of boron during graphitization. In order to effectively synthesize the boron-doped graphite, boron oxide(B2O3) was first dissolved in methanol and then blended with graphite thoroughly. The electrochemical properties of the boron-doped graphite prepared by the methanol solution blending and a solid mixing with boron carbide(B4C) were compared, and the one with no boron treated graphite was used for the control. As results, both of the boron doped graphite showed higher discharge capacity than the control, and the capacity of the solution doped graphite showed the highest value. This implies that the graphite blended with the boron oxide solution can develop the higher graphitic crystallinity than that of the graphite mixed with the solid boron carbide.
