제목 Optimization of the Extraction of Cellulose Nanowhiskers from Microcrystalline Cellulose by Acid Hydrolysis for Reinforcement in Nanocomposites
초록 Cellulose nanowhiskers (CNW) has been a growing interest for reinforcement in nanocomposites. Because their reinforcing capacity is expected to be remarkable. The objective of this work was to produce cellulose nanowhiskers from commercially available microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) by acid hydrolysis with a sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid under different acid concentrations. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) was carried out to determine thermal stability of CNW. The crystal structures of CNW and MCC were studied by X-ray diffraction analysis. Conductometric titration was performed in order to determine the surface charge on the cellulose, which results from acid hydrolysis.
