Diketopyrrolopyrroles (DPP) has been considered a suitable unit because of strong optical performance, exceptional stability and high electron-withdrawing properties. Without any coupling catalysts, electropolymerization processes facilitate the growth of polymer, and surface morphology of films can be controlled by applied potentials. In this study, we have investigated the synthesis and electrochromic properties of alkylated DPP polymers with different side chain units by oxidative electropolymerization. Several DPP based polymers which have different mechanical and chemical features were synthesized. Electrochromic properties were examined by UV-Vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence, cyclic voltammetry, spectroelectrochemistry and square-wave potential step absorptiometry. |
