Thermo-responsive Crown Ether Polymer Brushes Grafted on Magnetic Graphene Oxide as Adsorbent for Selective Lithium Recovery from Seawater |

N-Isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) co-polymerized with 12-Crown-4-Ether (12CE4) were grafted as brushes on magnetic GO (Fe3O4-rGO) to afford an adsorbent for Li+. Adsorption results reveal its selectivity towards Li+ when tested in seawater feed solution. Recyclability of the adsorbent was demonstrated by temperature-controlled adsorption-desorption cycles for the repeated capture and release of Li+. Overall results demonstrate the reusability and effectiveness of the developed adsorbent for the recovery of Li+ from seawater.
