Preparation of PVA/PAA/TiO2-graphene nanofibers by electrospinning and application to water purification |

Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/poly(acrylic acid) (PAA)/TiO2-graphene nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning for the photocatalytic treatment of wastewater. Both PVA and PAA were used as polymeric matrices to solve the recovery problems. PAAc was especially used for the pH-sensitive property of nanocomposites. Graphene was used to enhance the adsorption of pollutants and to improve the electron transferring from TiO2. PVA/PAA/TiO2-graphene nanocomposites were fabricated into nanofiber shape by electrospinning to have higher surface area. The morphology and structure of nanofibers were studied by scanning electron microscope and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The photocatalyticactivity was evaluated by a UV spectrometer based on the degradation of methylene blue solution. |
