제목 Microporous zeolites as a solid acid catalyst in glucosidation of D-glucose for synthesis of octyl glucosides
초록 Microporous zeolites were introduced as a solid acid catalyst in glucosidation of D-glucose for synthesis of octyl glucosides. Octyl glucoside was synthesized from D-glucose with 1-octanol using direct glucosidation method on microporous zeolite catalysts having various properties of acidity and pore structure. Its estrogenicity was evaluated to confirm the possibility as non-endocrine disruptive surfactant. The effect of acidities and pore structure of the catalysts were evaluated considering to the glucose conversions and octyl glucosides yields. The estrogenicity of octyl glucopyranoside was estimated using E-assay method to compare that of nonylphenol. Their catalytic activities were enhanced with increasing of acid sites amount. The selectivity of octyl glucopyranoside was increased according to the decrease of the Si/Al molar ratio to the same zeolite catalysts. The octyl glucopyranoside represented extremely lower estrogenic cell proliferation compared with nonylphenol.
