Permeation behavior of membranes takes a big role in terms of gas separation and chemical protection. Due to the ionic groups in polyelectrolytes, they may have a high water permeability and the ability to block harmful chemicals. Poly (2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid) (PAMPS) was synthesized, and crosslinked to prevent its dissolution in water using cross-linkers containing dimethacrylate. Ethylene glycol, Triethylene glycol dimethacrylate and poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate were employed as cross-linkers. PAMPS membranes with different cross-linking degrees were also prepared to investigate the effect of cross-linking on vapor permeabilities for water and dimethyl methylphosphonate, which is the simulant of Sarin (GB). During membrane drying, electrospun nylon nanofibers were inserted into the membrane. The effect of the additive on the physical properties and permeability was also examined. |
