Actuation of Carbon Nanofiber and Ni Nanopower/Cellulose Nanocompositesunder Electro-Active and Magnetic Fields |

Displacement of CNF and Ni nanopowder/cellulose actuators were evaluated using laser sensor as functions of type of wave, frequency, and voltage. Displacement of actuators of cellulose and CNF/cellulose increased as functions of frequency and voltage. However, specimens of cellulose and CNF/cellulose were deformed with increasing voltage. Displacement with frequency exhibited the maximum at sine wave, whereas the displacement strain increased up to a certain frequency and then did not fit at all upon applied higher frequency. Ni nanopowder was responded under electro-magnetic field. Movement of Ni nanopowder-silicone and Ni nanopowder-epoxy composites increased as functions of frequency and voltage.
