Organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) and Polymeric solar cells (PSCs) have attracted wide attention due to their potential use in low-cost, lightweight and flexible electronic devices. At present, due to the good performance of conducting polythiophenes, extensive efforts have targeted new thiophene architectures. So, in this study, we designed a new p-type thiophene based copolymer PNDT and PNDTT containing alkoxy group with polycyclic aromatics based thiophene unit to enhance π-conjugation. PNDT and PNDTT was synthesized by Yamamoto coupling reaction and Stille coupling reaction with high overall yields, respectively. The obtained PNDT and PNDTT polymers were characterized by 1H-NMR, UV-absorption, photoluminescence (PL), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and cyclicvoltammetry (CV) studies. The detailed optical, OTFT and PSCs device characterizations will be discussed in detail. |
