Water-assisted extrusion of polypropylene/clay nanocomposites |
초록 |
Polypropylene (PP) is one of the most used matrixes in polymer/clay nanocomposites due to its very large commercial importance. The main reason is the enhancement of the polymer matrix properties that could be obtained with only a few percent of filler. Montmorillonite layers need to be separated and dispersed into the polymer matrix to obtain a nanocomposite Conventional extrusion was compared with two water-assisted extrusion methods respectively involving insert of clay in the PP stream or injection of aqueous clay slurry in the PP stream. The dispersion of the clay in the PP was analyzed at the Plate-Plate rheometer and the Scanning electron microscope (SEM). |
