Electrochemical Water splitting is a very promising part of renewable and green energy production. Water splitting is comprised of HER and OER. OER is kinetically sluggish and effects to overall water splitting reaction because OER relates to the oxygen–oxygen bond formation and comprises four proton-coupled electron transfer process Therefore, it is necessary to promote the reaction by increasing the efficiency of oxygen evolution reaction. Recently, a lot of research is being conducted to improve the efficiency by growing catalysts on the surface of an electroconductive support in HTHP(high temperature and high pressure) condition. However, since HTHP reactions are disadvantageous to mass production and commercialization, there are needs to synthesize catalysts in more mild condition. Herein, NiFe OER catalyst is grown on the surface of nickel foam in low temperature and normal pressure, and comparing with reported NiFe catalyst there is no difference in electrochemical performance. |
