Many researchers have focused on the development of host and dopant materials for high efficiency phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PhOLEDs). However, in order to maximize the emission characteristics of the PhOLEDs, the development of the electron-transporting layer (ETL) is also important. Electron-Transporting Layer (ETL) transports electrons to the emissive layer of PhOLEDs. Development of thermostable and high-HOMO ETL materials is necessary for improving the performance of OLEDs. Here, we present new ETL materials using heavy core for high-thermostability and highly electron-withdrawing groups for good electron transport properties. The chemical structures of the new material were confirmed by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR spectroscopy. The new materials were thermally stable up to more than 350 ºC which was confirmed by TGA and DSC. The PhOLED devices using the new ETL materials outperformed the control devices using TPBI as ETM. |
