MXene-Functionalized PLCL/Collagen Nanofiber Matrices to Facilitate Spontaneous Myogenic Differentiation |

Recently, MXene (Ti3C2TX ) has drawn increasing attention due to its fascinating physicochemical properties. Herein, MXene-functionalized poly(L-lactide-co-ε-caprolactone)/collagen (PLCL/Col/MXene) nanofiber matrices were fabricated via electrospinning and their potential as scaffolds for skeletal muscle tissue engineering was examined. FT-IR spectroscopy, SEM, AFM, and contact angle measurement were carried out to characterize the PLCL/Col/MXene nanofibers. It was found that the PLCL/Col/MXene nanofiber matrices promote the spontaneous myogenic differentiation of C2C12 myoblasts without hampering their growth. In conclusion, it is suggested that the topographical and biochemical advantages of the MXene-functionalized nanofibers can be a promising strategy for skeletal muscle tissue engineering and regeneration. |
