Increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations, mainly caused by fossil fuel combustion, have become an important concern for global warming because these emissions increased significantly in the last century and still rising continuously at a faster rate.Other possibilities are carbon dioxide capture, sequestration and reutilization. In this study we synthesized poly-ethylene-imine (PEI) functionalized Zeolite X. The Zeolite X nanocrystal was aggregated with poly-ethylene-imine. PEI functionalized Zeolite X could enhance the carbon-dioxide adsorption capacity, due to the high contents of amine groups and ion-quadrupole interactions zeolite X structure with carbon dioxide. |
