The poor solvent effects on the spray deposited films for polymer solar cells (PSCs). |

Polymer solar cells (PSCs) can be fabricated by using various solution processes. Among these solution processes, the spray process is one of the most promising due to its high production speed. In this presentation, we studied about the co-solvent effects on the spray deposition method for the PSCs. The co-solvent is composed of good solvent, such as chlorobenzene and a bit of poor solvent, such as nitrobenzene. The principle of using the poor solvent is in order to control the aggregation of P3HT in mixed polymer-fullerene device active layers. Thus, we controlled the ratio of poor solvent over 0, 2 and 4% to find the optimum of that. There are notable effects in this study with using the co-solvent. Not only increase in crystallinity of P3HT but decrease in surface roughness more than before spray deposited PSCs. Furthermore, the device performance is also increased over the FF, Jsc and PCE values. |
