Polyurethane (PU) elastomer is one of versatile polymers for automotive parts, medical applications, and sports goods as the physical properties of PU can be varied in a wide range of hardness and mechanical properties. The amount of polyurethane elastomer wastes is increasing these days and recycling of the PU has become an issue. Depolymerization of PU waste results in the recycled polyols, the application that is limited due to poor mechanical properties of PU elastomer obtained. Therefore we investigated the reinforcement of PU from recycled polyols with the graphene oxide incorporated into the prepolymer. It was found that the addition of graphene oxide into PU from recycled polyol resulted in the large increase of mechanical properties of the PU. |
