Ladderlike Polysilsesquioxanes (LPS) with (RSiO3/2)n formula where R is an organic substituent have been used as useful molecular building blocks in the formation of organic-inorganic hybrid nanocomposites. LPS with various organic functional groups can react with organic monomer, oligomers, and polymers to make organic-inorganic hybrid materials. It is expected that LPS are useful starting hybrid polymers for the synthesis of various hybrid materials because they have excellent thermal stabilities, fire resistances, and good mechanical properties. In this study, hybrid polymer with functionalized polypropylene and LPS was synthesized by the addition reaction of polypropylene containing hydroxyl group(PP-OH) and LPS containing chloromethylphenyl groups. In addition, we also discuss their unique characteristics and properties demonstrated by TGA, DSC, SEM, NMR, EDX and FT-IR. |
